You'd think that some amount of common sense - a realization that children are not adults and have to be treated accordingly - that discipline, sometimes physical but not excessive, has to be used for children - would be something social workers and politicians would understand.
Apparently not.
Recently a grandmother who was foster caring her two grand children - had the kids taken away and separated to different homes. The reason? She smacked the little boy because he wanted to climb the fence. Someone reported her - and she lost custody.
