Venus Bay, South East Victoria

Took a drive down to Venus Bay - located on the South East coast of Victoria, roughly 2 hours drive from Springvale.

Its a pleasant journey. You get to see a lot of wide pastoral land along the way. It would be beautiful during the Winter time when all the land is green and lush.

The weather at the beach was cold, too windy. Its a surf beach - the waves are pretty rough. I wouldn't advise parents to allow their children to swim in this type of water without proper supervision.
But the beach is pristine and clean. And once you get into the water - it doesn't feel that cold.

And you could harvest shell fish pippies (lah-la) by the bucket full at the beach. I think half of Springvale was down there doing precisely that.

A long time ago abalone was also plentiful on Victoria's coast line - but you know who - came along and grabbed them all to extinction. Sigh.
