I picked up a Staunton chess set from England the other day. There is some slight damage but the pieces look magnificent. The King is over 3 inches tall. They all come weighted with the same metal used for coins.
I just love the design. It looks so elegant and pretty. All individually craved from ebony and boxwood. The horse also looks quite humorous and cute.
