Michael Jackson is dead

Michael Jackson the pop star from the 1980s is dead.

MJ's music albums from that era made him a legend among so many people; me included. Millions of kids imitated his famous moon walk and memorized the dance steps to the Thriller video.

I remember parties where the DJ put on that song - and everyone got into that video dance sequence like a marching band. Incredible.

He made being a Black/ African really cool even among people who were nominally racist.

Unfortunately he went downhill in the 1990s because of his sad and peculiar obsession with children. I think it was partly due to his harsh upbringing. He didn't have much of a childhood - his music career began at the age of 4. And his perverted desire manifested from that childhood trauma.

(In hindsight, it was cruel to laugh and make fun of his antics and bizarre behavior. It like mocking a person who is blind, deaf, or intellectually disabled. The poor brother just needed help. The problem was that with his success and material wealth - he just couldn't be stopped and placed into a mental clinic or sent to a place where he could receive help for his issues.

Perhaps in his mind he was still very much a child that hadn't grown up.

Poor Michael.

The guy just went off the rails in the 1990s and 2000. He really needed to get some professional help and time apart. Its easy to laugh at him then - but it was cruel - he had a serious mental problem. Unfortunately, no one could help him.

its traic... more about the evil money hungry producers pushing him to do more than anyone can... tours, writing music, appearances etc. and all in the name of money. If he never had that pressure, things may have been so different, both in terms of his mental state and also the final result. If they found out he agreed to 10 concerts and the promoters booked him for 50, I hope those promoters get taken for manslaughter or wrongful death!

Well, no one put a gun to his head. He could have taken a lesser cut - and made considerably less money of course.

The stories for right or wrong are that he agreed to do 10 concerts and before you knew it the promoters who only saw money had booked 50... http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/aeg-ceo-michael-jackson-concert-concerns-1003979214.story

There are also gonna be some p1$$ed off people out there who foolishly paid up to $16,000 for a ticket to scalpers and now can only get a refund of the face value... sucks to be them.
