The bad side to Melbourne's Food Scene

Hmmm... I used to enjoy the char siew pows at Nam Loong at Russell Street. But the Cantonese speaking waitress would always overcharge me - and was incredibly rude. (I don't speak Cantonese).  call her the charsiew pow Nazi - watch Senifeld if you don't get this reference. I'm glad I haven't been there for over 4 years.

On a side issue - I'm bemused that a few Hong Kong restaurants here in Australia actively discriminate against people who are not from Hong Kong. Maybe its a language thing. I guess one would probably expect some bullshit if this was in Hong Kong - but ffs this is Australia - they are as much a gweilo (foreign devil) as anyone else (except the Aborigines).
