I got this off Shinyi's blog. Its a lovely story with a meaningful message.
A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the pups and set about Nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.
Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."
"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "these puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."
The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"
"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle,"Here,Dolly!" he called.
Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.
As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared; this One noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....
"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.
The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."
With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands."
We all need someone who understands and cares for us.

Jack be Quick
Another damn trade that went sour. Its these sorts of trade that really screw me up inside.
First up: wtf happened was this: I got in at Midas at $1.37 - the same price I got three weeks ago before that plunge to $1.06.
It made a healthy rise for the next 4 days. And it peaked this morning at $1.56. 400 lots done. Could have got out and walked away with $9000 net profit. Nine fucking grand. YOU MORON. ... ok. ok... calm down.
When I looked at the chart using "end of day line charting". It seemed to show that the resistance was at $1.65. This was wrong but I did clear it up later - and it did show resistance at $1.55.
See : Candle stick showed definite resistance at $1.55.
This morning it hit that level. Beauty. Then I decided to have some breakfast and wait around for lunch time and see whether more big boys would buy in and push the price higher. Great! I'm in the money now - $9000+. What else can go wrong?
Got complacent.
Then the price suddenly fell off. Went from $1.53 to $1.48 in two minutes. No one knew why. My stop loss was raised to $1.50 but the price had broken thru - I should have automatically sold.
I was still in the money. I would have walked away with some profit. Instead I called up my broker and yapped about it but she said it was some fund selling to take profit. Fair enough- if they bought in at $1.20 a week ago, I'd do the same thing. Then more selling came in. The price came to $1.47. (Remember I bought in at $1.37) But like a monkey with his hand in the coconut trap, I didn't let go. I waited- and told myself ooook - definite stop loss at $1.44.
Problem is - if u say it to yourself in the head without writing it down, its hard to articulate in words.
So the price fell to $1.44 and I didn't sell. I bought more as the price dropped to $1.41. Then the news came out- a joint venture that was planned was rumored to fail. I read the news- but by the time it took to sink into my thick skull the price had fallen to $1.35.
I sold at $1.34 the low of the fucking day.
What did I do wrong again?
1. I got greedy. and thought I could wait for more.
2. I failed to look at the chart properly at the start. The resistance was at $1.55. I did see it this morning - but I thought this was going to be a breakout. That's fine. But when it did fall. I didn't react fast enough. Initially I thought it was just normal selling. Then it quickly turned into a rout and I didn't do fuckall.
3. Indecisiveness. Slowness in action. I got muddled looking at the price action as opposed to watching the stop loss.
4. No discipline. Failed to act on the $1.50 then at the $1.44 stop loss. Worse, I bought back in. In the end settled for the old stop loss - but by then I lost all my profits and incurred more capital loss.
This will not do. I got so upset by this then I got sick. I then promptly sold the rest of the stocks that were sitting in the money - like Noble. Today its up 5%.
Its a tight market now. Any sign of weakness is just gonna get hammered. Be careful.
Singapore Censorship
LOL. This is so funny. Click on the photo.I need a good laugh. Just had an irritating conversation with a bank staff.
It was over a bank cheque for my late father. The bank staff refused to bank it.
(Since its the Hungry Ghost festival, I ought to have told her I'd refer it to my dead dad so that he can PERSONALLY sort it out with her).
Anyhow every so often we receive a dividend cheque for dad. He's died ten years ago and mum closed their joint bank account - so there's no way we can cash the cheque.
However, we have been able to bank in the cheques in my mom's account because she took my dad's name as her married name. Hence Mr XYZ, Mrs XYZ.
But the bank staff got "clever" and rang me up, asking to speak to my dad, when I told her he was dead- she actually went "AHA!!!! (with a "gotcha" laugh) then said in a giggling voice, "Sorry lah cannot bank the cheque leh. This cheque hor for your father not your mother, k?"
If she was standing next to me, I'd strangle her for sure.
I had to take 1 hour of breathing and relaxing to get that damn conversation out of my mind and cool down.

Not watching porn - playing World of Warcraft.
Watch the video. This guy is quite funny. Click HereNow shut up and let me... go to the gym.
Note: I don't play WoW. I know that if I do- I'd most likely be totally addicted and my life would really be screwed up bigtime - as if it isn't bad enuf already.
Grrr... I remember when I played the game Unreal when it first came out- I'd spend like 10 hours a day - easy playing the damn game.
Things sucked until I got a better computer- then I played somemore- and I got pretty good at it. But what a waste of time- I could have learnt two European and Asian languages during that whole saga. ...
Better get my black ass to the gym now.

Watching porn - not playing World of Warcraft thank God.

Grrr... I remember when I played the game Unreal when it first came out- I'd spend like 10 hours a day - easy.
I used to do surveys- and they'd ask me so how often I used the computer.
A. 1 hour a week/month?
B. 5 hours a week?
C. 10 hours a week?
D. 15 hours a week?
... Now where's the part which say "I have No Life."
Things sucked until I got a better computer- then I played somemore- and I got pretty good at it, I even got a world wide ranking. Then I played Counterstrike.... Its just so easy to spend 10 hours a day playing computer games. On some level, it fulfils a part of you in an unmeaningful way. Computer gaming is exciting - you get to do something extraordinary - jumping off buildings, shooting fantastic weapons at unbelievable monsters - you get to do acts of heroism - and hey, if you screw up and die - you can restart. And you even interact with other people online. But what a waste of time- I could have learnt two European and Asian languages during that whole saga. ... Or built a house, had a family, raised kids, and still have time left over.

My Penis is a Super Hero
"My Penis is a Super Hero" so said our Writer Trainer, Alison Lestor. That was her opening line in her latest fictional short novel. It got your attention. Now Reel them in.
Hook. Passion. Personality. Give your writing some of this and it will get you noticed. People's attention spans are very short these days- so make every word count.
That's the same message for business style writing -" Give it simple and direct!" - said Shirley Taylor with the authority of a headmistress. There's no need to make it boring or filled with meaningless long winded phrases.
"What does this mean to you! - yes you", Yau-ming, the man with the chicken wing in his mouth!!!
Oh Gawd!! There they were - eyeballing me - I did my best to scuff it down - but now everyone was onto me - including all the scary dolls in the Toy Museum where we were holding the function. I muttered something barely intelligible. And Shirley gave me that look and said "Interesting reply. I'll talk to you afterwards about it."
* DOH!!!. But the chicken served at the function cum lecture was very tasty.
Apparently, using terms like "revert back", "Kindly", "abovementioned", "With regards to our previous communique" even "perusal" are extremely archaic - but used often in Singapore and Malaysia. Try using them with anyone overseas - America, Europe, Britain - and you will get laughed at. (Try telling that to your square headed Singaporean boss tho.)
Business letters don't need to sound so dead, lifeless, soul-destroying, soul-sucking. Instead of saying, "With regards to our previous correspondence, please find in the letter attached a copy of our latest catalogue for this current quarter April 2007. Your company purchased several samples of our products last month. Kindly revert to us if you require further details and information on the abovementioned catalogue. Regards Mdm. Chio Tung Hee".
Instead make it more direct, simple and personal: We are pleased to present a copy of our latest catalogue. It has more of the products which your company was after. I look forward to hearing from you soon. With Regards, Tung Hee." ...
