Mumbai Terror Siege were tortured

Even more depressing news. The hostages of the Mumbai siege were tortured. Not waterboarded. Specific real, horrendous torture.

...

I can't help thinking about this as I'm going for my dental. The tooth extraction was really painful - and that with anasthetic.

Anyway, pardon me for setting a sour note to the start of the week.

But let us remember the hostages and say a prayer for the dead and the survivors.

Asked specifically if he was talking of torture marks, he said: "It was apparent that most of the dead were tortured. What shocked me were the telltale signs showing clearly how the hostages were executed in cold blood," one doctor said.

The other doctor, who had also conducted the post-mortem of the victims, said: "Of all the bodies, the Israeli victims bore the maximum torture marks. It was clear that they were killed on the 26th itself. It was obvious that they were tied up and tortured before they were killed. It was so bad that I do not want to go over the details even in my head again," he said.

Corroborating the doctors' claims about torture was the information that the Intelligence Bureau had about the terror plan. "During his interrogation, Ajmal Kamal said they were specifically asked to target the foreigners, especially the Israelis," an IB source said.

Oprah weighs 200 pounds or her weight in gold

Poor Oprah. She recently confessed that she bungled her weight management and now weighs 200 pounds or 90kg. I don't know how tall she is - maybe 5/5?

But on the bright side - her weight now matches her considerable fortune.

200 pound = 3200 ounces

Gold is $776 an ounce currently.

Oprah's personal fortune is about 0.5 billion.

Golly, Gold has to hit $15,000 an ounce before it matches her weight in gold. Or if she ballooned to 40,000 pounds - ie Jabba the Hut size.

Can't she build a gym in her home and hire handsome personal trainers to motivate and keep her fit? I know what I'd do if I was as rich as her :)

Highlighted by Andrew Bolt.

Welcome to Valhalla

Welcome to Valhalla, visitor dear
Climb this stairway to a different paradise.
Fantasia, for short
Where the dreams are wrought in the furnance of one's mind
But nightmares are won.
So Dream all.
Endure the stinging arrows of adversaries and battle on.
Oh break these chains
Break these clumsy fetters
That bind my imagination to the ground.
And let us battle on
Fearing none. Daring all.
The tea break is at ten.
Thus ride on my fear comrades
Mount the steed. Grip the sword.
There are many battles to be lost.
Come, dare all. Life's a final suicide.
It has to be made the most of
In Valhalla.
