Blue Reef Scuba team spots Giant White Manta Cruising Dayang on Saturday




Measuring about 5m across in wingspan, this was the biggest manta ray I have ever seen. Its color was white. Time was 5pm. Place: Rayner's Rock, near Pulau Dayang/Aur. Date November 15th, 2008.

Special thanks to Nizzam, Ashar, Sng, Janice who were on the team. We were fortunate - the other groups spotted nada.

    Thanks, we were very fortunate to encounter the fabled Devil Fish. Seen at Rayners Rock, Pulau Dayang/Aur at 5pm Saturday. Went back the next morning but nada. It would probably come back from the deep at 5pm - I suspect due to its albino skin- it would be very sensitive to sunlight- and would choose the evening cool to come up.

    ah....there was another sighting on sunday itself by the equator dive group. could have been the same guy.

    Lol. I didn't hear about it on Sunday. As far as I know, no one said a thing about a Sunday sighting... As Sng would say, "No photo - no proof!!!!!" Hahaha.
